Turkey's first high school coding festival CodeFest, which has been organized by the Üsküdar American Academy Programming and Olympiad Club students since 2016, took place at our school on Saturday, February 24, 2024.
The event started with the opening speech of Murat Özkan, Anadolu Efes CIO, and continued under the leadership of our students Derin Özkan and Emre Armağan.
36 teams from 22 different high schools in Istanbul participated in the event. After attending workshops led by experts, the participants started a marathon lasting 4.30 hours.
CodeFest questions were prepared in a format similar to other computer olympiads around the world by our students Özgür Karagül, Ali Onat, Muhlis Can Tamam, Mustafa Akın and Emre Yücel with the support of our former graduates, thus giving students who will represent our country in the international arena the opportunity to test themselves.
After the closing speech of Özgür Çiçek, the head of our school's Computer Science department, the winning teams were presented with their awards.
