Between August 21-September 1, UAA students from 9th & 10th grade and our IB CAS Coordinator /Physical Education teacher Ediz Kaya visited Cochin, Chennai and Pondicherry cities in India, for community services and intercultural interaction.In addition to 5 UAA students, 8 IB students from Delhi and 4 local students from Edyanchavadi village joint the organization.

 

During these days, students had chance to work in a house building factory plant which uses natural supplies and also produced music instruments with bamboo tree in a workshop. In order to contribute to local education, UAA students gave some lectures to local students in Edyanchavadi village.

 

Addition to these activities, UAA students also joint yoga, meditations and art classes. They learnt basics of making terracotta figures under the guidance of a master craftsman, UNESCO prized Mr. Munusamy.  The group visited cities around, went to a boat trip and fishing with Chinese fishing techniques. They also went to Shiva temple and meditational activity in Matrimadir.

 

For the resumption of the project, UAA students will exhibit pictures they took and sell the flutes they have crafted in order to collect fund for hosting Indian students in İstanbul.
