PREP MATHEMATICS - Prep Class compulsory course
The main objectives of the course are to provide students with the necessary English vocabulary to be successful in 9th grade Mathematics studies conducted in English, to strengthen and reinforce mathematical concepts and skills acquired in previous academic years, to provide students with the ability to express mathematical logic and rational thought processes effectively in English, and to introduce the TI 84 CE-T graphing calculator and to provide students with the skills to use technology in daily life.
MATHEMATICS & GEOMETRY 9 - 9th grade compulsory course
In addition to the above-mentioned objectives, it is aimed to develop our students' mathematical reasoning skills, to use the Texas Instruments TI 84 Plus CE-T graphing calculator and other technologies in solving problems, and to strengthen the algebraic knowledge that our students will need in the future. In addition to basic number concepts, introduction to the concept of function is also covered at this level.
In 10th grade, our students will continue their program by choosing one of the Mathematics and Geometry 10 or IB HL Mathematics courses.
MATH 10
The objectives of the course include making connections between mathematics and the sciences, putting critical thinking into practice, formulating and testing hypotheses in a logical process, and using graphing calculator or computer technologies competently. Functions, Polynomial Trigonometry and Logarithms, which form the basis of Calculus, are covered at this level.
IB MATHEMATICS PROGRAM
Our students who will continue the IB program will be responsible for the IB mathematics course outcomes in 11th and 12th grade. All IB students in 10th grade will take mathematics at HL level, and in 11th grade they will choose between Standard and Higher Level Mathematics. The program details have been created within the scope of the International IB program mathematics objectives.
Grade 11 students who are not in the IB program should choose one of the following 2 options for the compulsory Mathematics course.
Option 1: Mathematics (Calculus) and Geometry 11 course in the MoNE curriculum
MATHEMATICS & GEOMETRY 11- Grade 11
Within the scope of Mathematics courses, Series, Limit, Derivative and Integral will be covered and within the scope of Geometry courses, Angles, Similarity and Congruence, Triangles, Quadrilaterals, Polygons and Circles will be covered.
Option 2: AP Calculus AB and Geometry, which is an official AP course and requires students to meet certain requirements to take it
AP CALCULUS AB - GEOMETRY - Grade 11
AP STATISTICS - 11th grade elective
AP Course contents are created within the scope of the International AP Program objectives.
MATHEMATICS 12 (Discrete Mathematics) - 12th grade compulsory course (6 hours)
Grade 12 mathematics courses include Basic Principles of Counting, Binomial Expansion, Probability, 3D Geometry and Analytical Investigation of Line and Circle.
Grade 12 also offers the following elective courses for our students:
MATHEMATICS FOR UNIVERSITY EXAMS - Grade 12 elective
Studies for TYT and AYT are carried out in line with the needs of the students.
AP CALCULUS BC - 12th grade elective course and AP STATISTICS - 12th grade elective course
AP Course contents are created within the scope of the International AP Program objectives.
AP Calculus BC course is especially recommended for students who want to build a career in mathematics and engineering.
